After spending the first half of his legal career working for large developers and some of the country’s biggest banks handling real estate and foreclosure matters, Mr. Hatch felt his career needed a new direction. He went to work representing indigent clients whose children had been removed from their custody by the state. He found helping people navigate the legal system during the lowest points of their lives when it seemed like no one was on their side much more satisfying than adding to a faceless corporation’s bottom line. He’s also worked on the other side of these matters, having served as an assistant attorney general in the Utah Attorney General’s Child Protection Division where he represented the State of Utah in child welfare cases. If you are dealing with DCFS or facing a case in Juvenile Court, Mr. Hatch will know how to get it resolved and reunify your family.

Mr. Hatch understands that a divorce is also usually one of the lowest points of a client’s life. He’s dedicated to handling your case with care and compassion while still being your fierce advocate. He prides himself on being able to reasonably and rationally negotiate with the other side to get you the best outcome without causing any additional drama, but is always prepared to fight for you when conflicts are unable to be settled. He’s seen that family conflict can add stress and trauma to both parents’ and children’s lives and does all he can to minimize and mitigate potential harm. His experience working for banks in real estate litigation and home foreclosures can also help you wade through some of the challenges divorce can present to your family home and other property.

Family

Mr. Hatch is the father of three amazing children. He is divorced and maintains a good co-parenting relationship with his ex wife. He believes strongly that an ideal divorce establishes good working relationships between parents whenever possible while establishing strong, clear boundaries and expectations moving forward. He also understands that an amicable resolution isn’t always possible and will always fight to protect and preserve your rights as a parent. As a caring father, he understands the importance of maximizing the time and connection clients have with their kids and will work to get you to the other side of your legal issues as a better parent.
